Raw milk cannot be sold in the state of Virginia. However, it is perfectly legal to enjoy fresh, raw milk from your own animal. By taking part in a herd share, you are purchasing a share of a herd that you are then entitled to receive milk from. You pay an initial, one-time herd share ownership price, a one-time deposit for your bottle(s), and then a monthly boarding fee for the care of your share. Milk can then be picked up on farm or at designated pick-up locations, in the amount of the share you choose, and bottles returned to be sanitized and refilled.

We are always taking stock of the locations of those interested to help us expand our bottle pick-up/drop-off location possibilities. If you are not local to the Sinking Creek area, please do not hesitate to fill out the interest form! We want to gauge ALL areas of interest so that we can work on setting up more pick-up points!

Once you have been contacted with your herd share contract, payments can be made here on our website through our herd share member login page or on-farm in person.

Our herd share milk is bottled in half-gallon glass bottles with handles, that you will rinse and return to your pick-up location for us to sanitize and refill. Glass bottles are a fairly significant investment, but one of quality, experience, and sustainability that we felt imperative to reflect.
